Alexander Swart Property Celebrate A Record Year

Category News

Alexander Swart Property's year- end function, held recently at the Stoneshed function venue in Durbanville, was an occasion where Rowan Alexander and Andre Swart could congratulate staff on an exceptionally good performance; with complete justification. Sales were up 50 to 60% on 2018 despite 2019 being a time in which conditions were difficult and many agencies had to face drops in sales and staff lay-offs. The coming year, says Alexander, will see Alexander Swart consolidating their 2019 achievements and further enhancing their reputation as the No1 agency in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs. A team not only with the highest sale figures but also with the highest and most approving public profile - something he and his colleagues have worked hard to establish.

Thirty-three awards were made at the function and the ceremony was live-streamed onto Facebook. It was a colourful and cheerful show as the staff wore mad hats - one a miniature model of the ASP offices.

  • The most coveted award for Brand Ambassador of the Year, went to Garth Hewitt from the Durbanville branch. This award is given to the agent who in the staff's opinion ( everyone has a vote) most clearly epitomises the values and  service principles of the agency. It is noteworthy that Garth is only in his second year with Alexander Swart. In his first year he was awarded the prize for best New Agent - a case of the duck taking to the water very fast indeed.

  • Marie Grant was declared the Top  Overall Agent in the Group, with Jason Blight and Garth Hewitt as the runners up. This is the first time that Marie Grant, a regular prize winner,  has won this award which is based purely on the value of the homes sold. Her sales included  some exceptionally high priced properties.

  • Jason Blight, Stefan Engelke and Wian Ingram took the first three positions in the Brackenfell Overall Sales and the Brackenfell Top Listing Agent competitions. The same three were awarded the Top Selling positions but in a different order: First was Jason Blight, second Wian Ingram and third Stefan Engelke.

  • The Most Dedicated Show House Agent trophy for Brackenfell went to Marlon Money and Ian Diedericks won the Administration Appreciation Award for Brackenfell.

  • At Durbanville, Marie Grant once again emerged as the clear winner in the Overall Sales and the Top Selling  Agent competition, with Garth Hewitt as No 2 -  Hewitt won the prize for the Most Listings. He also took the prize for being the Most Dedicated Show House Agent at Durbanville.

  • Verna Rossouw was awarded the Administration Appreciation Award for Durbanville.

  • Yolandi Hewitt received the trophy for the Best New Agent at Brackenfell; a remarkable achievement for someone who transferred from the rental division to sales less than a year ago. Alexander has described her as the quintessential estate agent.

  • Alexander Swart's Rental Division, managed by Janine Swart, also had a record year, again despite tough conditions which saw rent rises curtailed and vacancies slightly increased. Here Anna-Marie Smalberger took the prizes for the Most Units Let, the Highest % Commision, the Most Commissions Earned and for Exceptional Client Service. The Administration's Appreciation Award for Rentals went to Christaline Jantjies

  • Yolandi Hewitt and Stefan Engelke were awarded the prizes for the Most Rental Referrals from the Sales office and Lorenda Lubbe won the prize for the reverse operation i.e. the Most Referrals to the Sales Office.

  • Alexander Swart's Bond Origination division, Uzuko Finance, run by Esme le Roux also had a good year. Here agents Moegamat Samuels, Jason Blight and Rubin Adams were the leading supporters in referring clients to this bond service.

"With so much to be grateful for," says Rowan Alexander, "it might seem a little presumptuous to say we expect to do even better next year. Our team is young, motivated, well trained and competent. Now that many of the political and other uncertainties of 2019 are behind us, I am confident that we can up our performance very significantly in the coming year. We are, therefore, always keen to meet agents looking for a career boost or those in other sectors who believe they have what it takes to be a good estate agent."
